STOCK FOR SALE NOW! updated 12/26/2006 |
| NO STOCK FOR SALE NOW |
By putting your name on any of the spawn lists below you will insure that you will have a selection from the pairs available before they go on sale to the general public. Once the offspring reach about 4 months of age, I will photograph the males and send out pictures, with prices, to all those on the list. If there are any left after those on the list have made their selections, they will be posted on this website for sale.
Steel Marble HM Plakat male x Blue Marble HM female spawn #060906. These outstanding breeders were raised by Chok Pengdit and Suporn Khumhom.
Offspring from
spawn #060906 should be about 50% Steel Marbles and about 50%
Blue Marbles. The female appears to have some traces of Metallic
coloration. They will be 100% long-finned if the female is pure
for the long-finned trait. They will be 50% Plakats
(short-finned) if the female is carrying the Plakat trait. In
either case there should be some Half Moon
finnage in the offspring since both these
parents are excellent Half Moons. Both parents show triple ray
branching (8 branches) in their caudal fins. Both parents took
2nd place in their classes at the Texas Betta Societies May 2006
International show. Youngsters
should be available for sale around October 14, 2006.
06.09.2006 : Looks like a small sized clutch of eggs. The female ate some of the eggs.
06.10.2006 : The male is having trouble keeping the eggs in the nest due to very hard water breaking the bubbles. Embryo development can be observered inside the eggs. Male removed and strong aeriation started in the spawning tank. Looks like about 50 eggs/embryos.
06.11.2006 : Looks like all eggs hatched except for about 5 of them.
06.13.2006 : Began adding newly hatched baby brine shrimp to the tank.
06.14.2006 : Fry observed eating the brine shrimp.
09.04.2006 : Jarred up 6 males and 8 females.
09.10.2006 : One "female" is blowing a bubble nest, so it must be a Plakat male. The female parent must be carrying the recessive Plakat trait.
10.18.2006 : I have decided not to sell any of these offspring. I will use them for breeding stock and show fish. Thanks to all who have expressed an interest in these fish. I am sorry that none of these will be released and I hope you can all be understanding...JIM.
