Black Half Moon male x Double Black female, spawn #122903. These outstanding breeders were raised by Ralph Tran and Connie Emery.
Offspring from spawn #122903 should be 100% Blacks. They should all show spread iridescence, but carry the non-spread iridescence gene. This spawning is to improve the finnage in the Double Black line. Youngsters will NOT be available for sale as no fry have survived.

Double Black male x Double
1.5 Black female, spawn #122103. These outstanding breeders were
raised by Connie Emery.
Offspring from
spawn #122103 should be 100% Double Blacks. They should all show NO
spread iridescence, plus the females will be fertile. These
offspring will be homogeneous (pure) for both melano Black and
black lace Black. This spawning is to keep the pure Double Black
line going. Youngsters
should be available for sale around May 1, 2004.

Red Half Moon male x Red Half Moon female, spawn #120903. These outstanding breeders were raised by Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from spawn #120903 should be excellent Reds with some Half Moon finnage. This Half Moon male was Reserve Best of Show at Houston in 2003 and has outstanding color and triple ray branching (8 branches). This Half Moon sister to this male has good color and a magnificent caudal with triple ray branching (8 branches). Youngsters should be available for sale around April 11, 2004.

12.11.2003 : Looks like about 90 fry hatched. Some are Cambodian (light-bodied).
02.07.2004 : Jarred up 10 of the larger fry. Most have prominent straight caudal edges and multiple caudal branches. They look like they will be super Bettas.

02.21.2004 : Jarred up 14 more fry.
03.07.2004 : Jarred up 15 more fry. Concentrating on getting females this time.
03.14.2004 : Jarred up 13 more fry. Concentrating on getting females this time.
04.13.2004 : Most of the males have curled dorsals, curled caudals, or a mysterious "floater" problem. These offspring will be discarded.

Half-Giant Pastel Green Plakat male x Green Marble Plakat female, spawn #091503. These outstanding breeders were raised by Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from spawn #091503 should be 100% Plakats (short-fin). They should all be Green or Green Marble Plakats and about half of them should be Half-Giants. This is a brother to sister (sibling) spawning from my Half-Giant spawn #111002. The male is about 3.5 inches long and the female is regular size. The male is an IBC Champion in the Form and Finnage class. The female is a 3 time IBC champion including Reserve Best of Show at Houston in September 2003! Youngsters should be available for sale around February 1, 2004.
09.17.2003 : Looks like about 100 fry. No Cambodians (light-bodies).
10.20.2003 : Divided fry into two 10 gallon grow out tanks.
11.15.2003 : Jarred up 25 of the largest fry. Many of the fry are showing Crowntail characteristics on their caudal fins!
11.22.2003 : Jarred up 25 more fry.
12.06.2003 : Jarred up 8 more marbled fry. Male to female ratio is about 1:2 for the jarred fry. Trios will be available.
01.04.2004 : Many of the ones previously thought to be females apparently were subordinate males that have since shown their true sex. There are now more males than females. Only pairs will be available.

Pastel Green HM male x Pastel Blue sibling female, spawn #082303. These outstanding breeders were raised by Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from spawn #082303 should be 50% Pastel Blues and 50% Pastel Greens. This is a brother to sister (sibling) spawning from my Pastel spawn #012103. Both breeders are carrying the Opaque genetic factor so some of the offspring will be fully Opaque and some will have no Opaque at all. About 50% of the offspring will be carrying the Opaque factor like these parents. This Half Moon male is an undefeated multiple IBC champion (including the Convention 2003 show)! The female is unshown. Youngsters will NOT be available for sale as only three fry have survived.

Blue Marble Plakat male x Green Marble Plakat female, spawn #081003. These outstanding breeders were raised by Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from spawn #081003 should be 100% Plakats (short-fin). They should about 50% Blue Marbles and about 50% Green Marbles. This is a brother to sister (sibling) spawning from my Half-Giant spawn #111002. These breeders are regular size and do not show any signs of coming from Giant ancestors. The female is a 2 time IBC champion! Youngsters will NOT be available for sale as only one lonely fry has survived.

Red Half Moon male x Red Half Moon daughter, backcross #071103. These outstanding breeders were raised by Wasan Sattayapun and Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from backcross #071103 should be excellent Reds with some Half Moon finnage. This Half Moon male has outstanding color and triple ray branching (8 branches). This Half Moon daughter of this male has good color and a magnificent caudal with triple ray branching (8 branches). Youngsters will NOT be available for sale as this was an exceptionally small spawn - 10 or less fry.

This Half Moon male has outstanding color and triple ray branching (8 branches). This Half Moon female has outstanding color and triple ray branching (8 branches). Youngsters should be available for sale around July 8, 2003.

Blue Marble male x Blue Marble (HM) female, spawn #020703. These outstanding breeders were raised by Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from spawn #020703 should be Iridescent Marbles with outstanding Marble coloration. There should be some Butterflies and Red-loss types too. Iridescence will be some Blue, some Green, and some Steel Blue, and should be spread. This male from my 080602 spawning has nice coloration. This female also from my 080602 spawning is beautifully colored with excellent finnage. This is a spawning for color rather than finnage (isn't that a radical idea these days?!). Youngsters should be available for sale around June 10, 2003 (delivery could be made at the IBC Convention in Richmond).

Blue Pastel Butterfly Half Moon male x Green Cellophane Half Moon female, spawn #012103. These outstanding breeders were raised by Jim Sonnier.
Offspring from spawn #012103 should be Cambodian Pastels with some Half Moon finnage. There may be some Butterflies and Red-loss types. Iridescence will be some Blue, and some Green, and should be spread. This male from my 031202 spawning is a magnificent Half Moon with quadruple ray branching (16 rays) and 180 degree spread. This female from my 012002 spawning is also a Half Moon with triple ray branching (8 rays) and 180 degree spread. The female is also an IBC show champion. Youngsters should be available for sale around May 24, 2003.
